In 1987 I set up our first shop in a chicken coop in Historical Bucks County Pennsylvania just down the road from Doylestown. I was running an art gallery in central Philadelphia at the time and needed some easels. So I went to visit my close lifelong friend and fellow woodworker, Glenn Bostock at his woodshop in rural Bucks County. We got to working and built the first Bifold Easels using leather hinges, as no metal hinges were available. The hinges proved to be virtually indestructible and soon customers became more interested in the easels than the art. We trademarked the hinges and before I knew it Easels Direct was formed.

In 1988 we moved to beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado and have been here ever since.

While many of our products are hand-crafted in Colorado, some items are produced by other manufacturers, allowing us to provide a larger selection at competitive prices.
